Comments (0) News

Bayfront Tower is set to begin a $10 million, two-year renovation project that includes painting the exterior 29-story building a new color scheme, a new roof and hurricane-hardened floor-to-ceiling windows on the balconies. As the work on the 29-story condominium in downtown St. Petersburg begins, a 450-foot crane, one of the largest in the Southeastern United States, will be in front of the building, according to a statement. “The board was able to take advantage of very low interest rates and secured a loan from Bank United to provide capital, which, when combined with reserve contribution, will finance the entire improvement over a 10-year period,” said Ted Mallin, president of the board for Bayfront Tower, in the statement.

Clearwater-based Creative Contractors is leading the project as construction manager. St. Petersburg’s Wannemacher Jensen Architects and Griner Engineering, is leading the design of the aesthetic and common areas, and the mechanical and electrical work, respectively. C.B Goldsmith Architects, also in Clearwater, will be handling the roof. Bayfront Tower has 255 residential units and 13 commercial units.
